Former Gaucho Brian Shaw might become NBA Head Coach

ESPN has said that former Gaucho and current Los Angeles Lakers assistant Brian Shaw is up for the Cleveland Cavaliers head coaching job. It is rumored that Shaw was even calling other assistant's to join him in Cleveland.

Shaw, 44, has no previous head coaching experience but has been one of Phil Jacksons top assistants on two NBA Championship teams. He is good friends with Kobe Bryant and brings an NBA playig experience with him.

In the 1988 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics selected him with the 24th overall pick.

Shaw played with the Celtics, Heat, Magic, Warriors, 76ers, Blazers, and Lakers. He won championships as a player and as a coach with the Lakers.
Shaw would become the 2nd Big West Basketball alumni to become an NBA Head Coach. The other one is Scott Brooks of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
