UCSB Mens Basketball vs. Fresno State

Orlando Johnson went berserk versus the Bulldogs. He scored a career-high 35 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to propel the Gauchos to a 69-54 victory.

The Gauchos got off to a SMOKING start by going on a 13-0 run to start the game. It included Orlando Johnson with 2 assists and 7 points.

Then the Gauchos kept pulling away. They extended their lead at one point to 16 points but the boys from Fresno kept fighting to get it down to a 11 point deficit.

James Nunnally, who scored 12 points, opened the second half by missing a three. The Gauchos struggled in the first few minutes of the second half by not scoring until the 16:34 mark. During that time, the Bulldogs got it down to a 4 point margin.

Then Orlando took over. He would score 7 of the next 10 Gaucho points to push the lead to 46-35. The Gauchos got in cruise control after that and took over the game.

Jon Pastorek and Jaime Serna combined for 13 points while Justin Joyner led the team with 4 assists.

The Bulldogs were led by 15 points from their big man Greg Smith.

The Gauchos go on the road for their next three games as they have a tough road trip with Portland, San Diego State, and Santa Clara.
